Erica’s Journey to Homeopathy
Sometimes the path to a new chapter begins with simply looking for another way.
For Erica Zap, the journey into homeopathy began with her own experience of not feeling well and searching for answers.
During the uncertainty of the COVID pandemic, Erica developed asthma. After trying conventional approaches without getting the resolution she was hoping for, she began exploring homeopathy.
Through a homeopathic combination remedy, Erica experienced a profound improvement in her asthma. Her experience sparked something deeper than relief — it sparked curiosity. She wanted to understand how homeopathy worked, why an individualized remedy could create such a meaningful shift, and what else this approach might offer.
That personal experience became the beginning of a new path.
A Life Built on Craft and Precision
For more than forty years, Erica worked as a jewelry designer and artisan, creating modern, timeless pieces from metal, pearls, leather, and natural stones.
Her work required patience, precision, observation, and a deep appreciation for the unique qualities of each material. Every stone, every piece of metal, and every design had its own character. Creating something beautiful meant paying attention to the details and understanding how individual elements worked together.
It was perhaps fitting that these same qualities would eventually guide Erica toward homeopathy.
Homeopathy also asks us to look closely at the individual. Rather than assuming that the same approach is right for everyone, it considers the unique way each person experiences their health and symptoms.
From Personal Experience to Study
Inspired by her own experience, Erica began formally studying homeopathy at the College of Practical Homeopathy (CPH) in London, where she is currently continuing her studies in classical homeopathic principles and practice.
The more she learned, the more fascinated she became by the philosophy behind homeopathy — particularly its emphasis on understanding the whole person and recognizing the body's own capacity for balance and adaptation.
What began as a personal search for answers gradually became a calling.
A Different Way of Listening
One of the things Erica values most about homeopathy is the time spent listening.
A consultation is not simply about identifying a symptom. It is about understanding the person experiencing it — their history, patterns, sensitivities, emotional experiences, lifestyle, and the many details that make their health story uniquely their own.
Erica brings the same patience and attention to detail that shaped her decades as an artist and designer into her work with clients.
She believes that every person deserves to be listened to carefully and understood as an individual.
The Beginning of Zap Healing Arts
Zap Healing Arts grew from this journey — from Erica's own experience, her ongoing education, and her desire to offer a personal and individualized approach to homeopathic care.
Today, Erica continues to study, learn, and deepen her understanding of homeopathy while creating a calm space where clients can feel heard, understood, and supported.
Her journey from jewelry designer to homeopathic practitioner may seem like an unexpected one, but when she looks back, the connection feels natural.
Both require patience.
Both require careful observation.
Both honor the uniqueness of each individual element.
And both are, in their own way, about finding balance.
