Instant Pot Wild Rice

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 4

Simple, flavorful, and perfectly tender, this Instant Pot wild rice is infused with fresh rosemary and garlic. Enjoy it as an easy side dish or make it slightly firmer for adding to soups, salads, and other recipes.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup wild rice

  • 1 ¼ cups water (or vegetable broth for additional flavor)

  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped

  • 1–2 cloves garlic, sliced

  • Salt, to taste

  • Olive oil, for finishing

DIRECTIONS

Add the wild rice, rosemary, garlic, and water or vegetable broth to the Instant Pot. Stir well to help prevent the rice from sticking.

Secure the lid and pressure cook on High for 28–30 minutes. Cook for 28 minutes for firmer rice—perfect for adding to soups—or 30 minutes for a more tender texture. Keep in mind that the Instant Pot will take approximately 8 minutes to come to pressure before the cooking time begins.

Once the cooking cycle is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes. Carefully release any remaining steam.

Season with salt to taste, finish with a drizzle of olive oil, and serve warm.
